Highlander Contracting Company, LLC has steadily grown from a small company providing simple fiber optic splicing for a single customer, to a full-service company providing complete turn-key products for our clients. Our growth from 2002 has allowed Highlander Contracting Company to develop into one of the most respected providers of utility and telecommunication services in the Mid- Atlantic region.

We approach each project with a cooperative mindset, working with our clients looking for cost effective and time sensitive solutions. Through our technical skill, preconstruction know-how and our self-performance capability, we anticipate project challenges and develop solutions that meet our clients’ objectives.

In addition to our labor and equipment resources, Highlander Contracting’s in-house Quality Control Plan and Quality Assurance Plan provide an overview of all administrative an construction procedures. Our QA/QC program strives to provide our customers with the best possible finished product in compliance with required contract specifications.

Highlander specializes in complete lifecycle support of fiber optic systems and utility installations. Our installation support services begin at the design phase. Together with our engineering partner and our extensive background with successful underground and aerial installations, Highlander provides a true “turn-key” solution. As construction begins, our experienced project management staff utilizes construction industry best practices to ensure world class installations. Highlander is a comprehensive fiber optic installation contractor, where each linear foot of cable is skillfully placed by our employees.

We are a diversified contractor with expertise in all types of utilities, including duct bank systems, manholes, water line projects and fiber optic cable installations. Our team includes over 50 professionals in their respective fields, with extensive experience in all types of utilities in the Mid Atlantic Area. Highlander provides a competent and cost effective approach to the most challenging of projects.

Highlander Contracting is proud to be a locally owned and operated Maryland utility contractor. Our employees are State Highway approved for traffic control and are confined space certified. All employees are subject to the company drug policy which includes pre- employment screening, random and post-accident testing. All supervisors have completed OSHA competent man training and BGE erosion control certifications. Our internal dig safe program “zero incident tolerance” has allowed us to have safe and successful installations. All employees are Amtrak and MTA certified to work on and around metro train installations. Our in house safety coordinator has a direct line of communication to the executive team. Safety is our number one priority.
